In 2012, Janvani community radio station was established in Kannur, Kerala to provide a platform to fisherfolk, migrant labourers, local traders, and daily wage workers to empower their voices. Janvani broadcasts 17 hours of programme daily on different themes related to rural development, health, agriculture, education, disaster management, women empowerment, and yoga etc. In this audio, Janvani community radio station is sharing their experience of broadcasting and keeping its programming on air during the pandemic. It also discusses the challenges faced due to imposition of lockdown and shutdown and how that has affected the overall functioning of the community radio station.
