Mahaprajna Nayak, a student of the PG Diploma course on Community Media at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), interned with the Chair for the months, February and March, 2013. During the course of the internship, Nayak contributed to ongoing projects, made programmes for Bol Hyderabad, the campus community radio station at the University of Hyderabad and also outlined a strategy on possible stories that could be aired on the station. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:

“The best thing about working with the UNESCO Chair  was the freedom and the space to think. I had an enriching exposure to the Community Radio movement in India and the discourse around it across countries through the CEMCA project. Especially, I enjoyed the passion in which the workshops and conventions were conducted for keeping the community media debate alive. “
